JET in Fukushima
JET in Fukushima
Fukushima Prefecture has been participating in the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme since 1987. The first year, 20 JETs came to live and work in Fukushima, and this number has been growing ever since. In 2019 there were 142 Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) and 9 Co-ordinators for International Relations placed in Contracting Organizations across Fukushima. The Prefecture has support systems in place for JETs living in Fukushima. These include the Prefectural Advisors System and the Area Support Leaders System. In addition, various seminars and orientations are also held for Fukushima JETs throughout the year. General information on the Prefecture and on life as a Fukushima JET can be found within these pages.
