I began life as a foreign exchange student in Fukushima in October last year, and have found myself changing, even though less than one year has passed. At first It has hard for me to talk to my friends and family. But now I can talk about my life in Fukushima with pride.
Fukushima and its people suffered tremendous damage from the disaster, but they have stood strong, and put great effort into recovering. I think the world should applaud their efforts. I live in Fukushima. I breathe the air, and enjoy the prefecture’s unique qualities. If you are concerned about traveling to Fukushima, please don’t worry. Significant progress has been made for the recovery, and the food is safe. These are some of the few lessons that I have learned about the current Fukushima.
