Much has been reported about the damage in Fukushima Prefecture following the events of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. While it is true that the people here have had a difficult time recovering from that devastation, you really have to be here to witness firsthand how far they have come. Although the news may have you believe otherwise, Fukushima is a thriving and beautiful place. The people here are the friendliest you will meet anywhere despite having to overcome adversity and being stigmatized in the news. Since coming here I have been blessed with many opportunities to see its natural wonders, and to interact with it people and their unique culture. I look forward to building on that relationship in the years to come.
