I visited Fukushima in December 2012, a trip that was one of the best I’ve ever had. From the friendly people to the beautiful scenery, I loved everything about Fukushima. Fukushima has so much character and I think this is something that the people of Fukushima have a right to be very proud of.
During my brief visit I also had the opportunity to meet a number of the people in Fukushima and hear their personal stories of recovery following the Great East Japan Earthquake. While it was saddening to hear how many lives were affected by the disaster, there was a strong common sense of hope and positivity that the people of Fukushima communicated to us; an unbeatable asset to all communities.
To the people of Fukushima, I wish for every success along the road for recovery for the people of Fukushima, you are in my thoughts often.
