Dear friends of Fukushima,
I have been living in Iwaki for 6 months now. I feel that I was very fortunate to be randomly assigned to live in Fukushima, because I’m always meeting kind people here. Despite what happened 3 years ago on March 11th, everyone has powerful energy that keeps them moving forward. I work at local public schools, and I am always encouraged by the students’ smiles. Recently, I had the chance to visit the evacuated areas near Soma and to talk to the locals there who have experienced the disaster. I was touched by those who, not only struggle for the revival of Fukushima, but also, continue to strive for their community and for the children’s happiness.
Please march forward with the indomitable spirit of Fukushima and continue to inspire the world.
