My family and friends were really worried when I told them about my assignment to work in Inawashiro town in the Fukushima Prefecture. Every now and then, they call to find out how I’m doing.
However, the recent study tour has really demystified the mysteries surrounding life in Japan especially in the Fukushima Prefecture. This is because the on going re-vitalization process has been very successful. I’m particularly impressed by effort being made to restore confidence in products from the Fukushima Prefecture. Also, there is lots of data that shows the continuous decrease in the radiation level and contamination. So I can confidently say Fukushima Prefecture is as safe as any other place in the world and I believe anyone who visits Fukushima will definitely have a refreshing experience.
