When I first got the news about where I was placed, I was excited and scared at the same time. I did not know anything about how bad it was in Fukushima. The only thing you really hear is the bad stuff on the news, so I did not have much of anything good to go on. So, I asked the people who were currently in Fukushima on the JET Programme about their thoughts. Within hours my fears had all but vanished. They were all so enthusiastic and happy to be placed in Fukushima that I really wanted to go and see what all the hubbub was about! And now that I am here, I can definitely see why they are so excited about living here. The people are great and the food is delicious and the view is spectacular. I wouldn’t change it for any other place in Japan.
