Hanamiyama Mountain is a Shangri-la of Fukushima where a variety of flowers bloom!

Spring is the time to cover Hanamiyama Mountain with a carpet of cherry trees. Mr. Shotaro Akiyama, a late photographer said, “Hanamiyama is a Shangri-la in Fukushima”. He visited there every year. There are many flowers, including cherry blossoms. In April, blossoms of wintersweets, plums, Japanese cornels, Japanese witch hazels, forsythias, cherries, peaches, Japanese quences, and magnolias are in bloom one after another.

Hanamiyama is located in the south-east which is 4 km away from the central part of Fukushima. Farmers growing flowers opened the land form 1959 based on the goodwill to entertain people with a view of beautiful flowers, for free of charge. You can enjoy a wonderful view of Azuma mountains from the mountain, and the view of flowers all over the mountain really overwhelming in its beauty and scale.
